Mission Statement
To provide an effective and efficient Public Safety to our residents promptly, courteously and compassionately.
To reunite lost pets with their owners, find abandoned animals homes, and enforce State Animal Laws.
To provide community members with education on responsible pet ownership, animal law enforcement, and our Community Outreach Program which is available to ensure pets remain with their owners.
Community Outreach Program
The Arenac County Animal Control Community Outreach Program assists Arenac County animals and owners in need.
It is made possible through the generous donations provided by the citizens of Arenac County and surrounding rescues.
If you are interested in food or other items, please come to the shelter during normal business hours or email us at acac@arenaccountymi.gov.
Animal Adoptions
Animal adoptions are to be completed Monday-Thursday from 1PM-4PM, unless scheduled with a staff member.
Please arrive at least 30 Minutes prior to closing if you are wanting to adopt an animal.
Found A Stray Animal?
Contact your local Animal Control office first. This will give you an opportunity to let the appropriate agency know that you have the animal and to provide a description to them in case the owner contacts them or contact Arenac County Central Dispatch at 989-846-4561.
